# Domain Scout

Turn any idea or keyword into hundreds of available domain name candidates using 10 generation techniques, then filter through a two-phase availability and pricing check.

**When to use this**
Launching a new product, rebranding, or just need a domain for a side project. Enter a keyword, get a ranked list of available, standard-priced domains.

**The process**

1. **Intake.** Determine how close to the original name you need to stay (pure only, concept-adjacent, creative, or wide open). Confirm budget, TLD preferences, and length constraints.
2. **Generate candidates** using 10 techniques:
   - Direct keyword + TLD (name.com, name.gg, name.games)
   - Domain hacks โ€” split the word across the dot (stre.am, digit.al)
   - 261 prefix words + keyword (getxga.com, joinxga.com, playxga.com)
   - Keyword + 247 suffix words (xgahq.com, xgagames.com, xgabot.com)
   - Portmanteaus โ€” blend two words by overlapping letters
   - Shortening โ€” drop vowels, use initials, truncate
   - Compounds โ€” prefix + keyword + suffix (getxgahq.com)
   - Acronyms โ€” initials of multi-word phrases
   - Phonetic variants โ€” sound-alike substitutions
   - Brandable suffixes (-r, -ly, -ify, -bot, -app)
3. **Phase 1: RDAP filter.** Check each candidate against RDAP (free, no API key). 404 = not owned by anyone. Rate limit: 10 requests per 10 seconds.
4. **Phase 2: Registrar pricing.** RDAP 404 does NOT mean standard price. Short domains (3 letters) are almost always premium ($100-$40,000+). Check at a registrar for real pricing before reporting.
5. **Present.** Group by tier (pure, suffix, concept-adjacent). Sort by price. Mark .com availability prominently. Show registration AND renewal prices.

**Pre-prepared sub-agents**

**1. Generator agent** โ€” runs all 10 techniques, produces 500+ candidates from a single keyword
**2. RDAP checker** โ€” batch availability filter with rate-limit-aware processing and resume support
**3. Pricing verifier** โ€” checks real registrar pricing, flags premium domains, confirms standard rates

**Tips**
- Three-letter SLDs on any TLD are almost always premium. Always verify pricing before reporting "available."
- First-year promo prices are a trap. Always check renewal price too.
- Prefix + short brand name (get, join, play, try, my) are almost always available as .com โ€” the easiest .com wins.
